Pokemon Diamond & Pearl Remakes Announced
Sinnoh Remakes Confirmed
The fourth generation Pokemon games are getting remade for the Switch in the forms of ‘Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl’. The announcement came from The Pokemon Company as part of it’s Pokemon Presents stream.
Unlike previous games however, these remakes are not being developed by Game Freak. Instead, at the helm is Ilca, who previously worked on Pokemon: Home.
Fans are divided over the design of the game. Rather than the graphics we have seen for Sword and Shield or Pokemon: Let’s Go, SP and BD have a cuter, chibified looked while still being faithful remakes of the original games.
Return to Sinnoh after 15 years
Pokemon: Diamond and Pearl were first released in 2006 on the Nintendo DS. They brought tons of new features including up-close and personal battles, WIFI support and the Global Trade System, features that are present in current generation games in one form or another. As of September 30, 2020, Pokémon Diamond and Pearl have sold 17.67 million copies worldwide.
Pokemon: Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl will release on the Switch late 2021.
