Zack Snyder’s Justice League Will End on a Massive Cliffhanger
Zack Snyder’s Justice League is almost here. In a recent interview with IGN, Zack Snyder confirmed that his cut of Justice League will end on a massive cliffhanger. He went on to elaborate a bit further Darkseid and the role he will play.
Well, it was meant to be two more movies. [This movie] doesn’t really encompass any of the additional movies other than little…it hints, as you would, at a potential other world. I’d plant the seeds as I had wanted to of what would come in the later films. That’s in there, but as far as those stories, that would be to come if ever that happened – which it does not look like it would.

Snyder goes on to say that he would be happy to see a sequel to his version come to fruition. However, he did not seem confident about the idea, calling the situation ” very hypothetical”.
Snyder did touch a bit on what direction he wanted to the story to go. As well as confirmed that Darkseid would have been the villain in the post-apocalyptic “Knightmare” setting.

“He’s certainly the sequel bad guy, but he definitely is in full effect. He’s running the show. He’s there. I don’t want to, again, spoil it but, yeah, he’s definitely there.”
These revelations regarding the original plot of Justice League Part One and Two have allowed us to start forming an idea about the direction Zack Snyder wanted to take.
Late in the game DC announced that Justice league would be released as one movie. Snyder could have been planning on beating Marvel to the punch by using the route taken by Infinity War and Endgame. By having the team loose in part one, it could set up the “Knightmare” sequence as a setting for part two. This would have opened the door for any number of options, including the Flash traveling though time to set things right.
