Obi-Wan Kenobi to Appear in Disney+ ‘Andor’
After the success of ‘The Mandalorian’, the Star Wars universe continues to expand on Disney+. Fans are still cheering from the news of an Obi-Wan Kenobi series and now it seems this isn’t the only place we will get more of the good General. According to the Illuminerdi, Obi-Wan will be returning for the upcoming ‘Andor’ series; a prequel to ‘Rogue One’.
In the series we will get more of Cassian Andor’s backstory and will explore more of the rebellion pre-episode 4.
…exploring tales filled with espionage and daring missions to restore hope to a galaxy in the grip of a ruthless Empire.
Furthermore, it is reported that Obi-Wan will feature in a recurring role throughout the series, rather than a cameo. Production on Andor will end this July and the series will land on Disney+ next year. Deborah Chow, of The Mandalorian, will direct the series. Joby Harold is penning the series. Sadly no additional details are available.
Obi-Wan isn’t the only one to be returning in Andor.
Returning as Darth Vader is Hayden Christensen. We can only hope that the two will get some screen time together. From a story perspective, it is possible that Obi-Wan has been working with the Rebellion post-episode 3. Furthering that, his role in Andor could set him on the path to a second show down with his former apprentice. In any case, his role in Andor and the Kenobi series will shine a new light on Obi-Wan’s life prior to the events of the original trilogy.
Alongside Diego Luna, Christensen and McGregor, Stellan Skarsgård, Fiona Shaw, Kyle Soller, and Genevieve O’Rielly as Mon Mothma, will star.
