Green Lantern and Martian Manhunter Shine in New Justice League Trailer
Zack Snyder’s long awaited cut of ‘Justice League’ is upon us. In just under four days fans will finally have ‘The Snyder Cut’. Leading up to the movies premier on March 18th, the final trailer for ‘Zack Snyder’s Justice League’ has been released.
Darkseid is front and center for this trailer. Between his narration and the shot of him leaping out onto the battlefield, it’s clear that Darkseid indeed practices what he preaches. There is a real sense of weight and malice to him. One criticism from the theatrical cut of ‘Justice League’ was the lack of any suitable threat to the JL. From this trailer, it does not look like that will be an issue for much longer.
Brightest day, blackest night, I spy Yalan Gur in that massive fight.

While the appearance of Yalan Gur is not necessarily a surprise, it was interesting to see the Green Lantern Corps member prominently on display. Yalan Gur did appear in the theatrical version of the film in a blink and you miss it cameo, and at the end of the day, this could very well end up being the same thing but even a slightly extended scene with the Green Lantern would help further expand this universe to the cosmic side of things.

The Red Eyes of Martian Manhunter
The last big reveal from the final ‘Justice League’ trailer is Martha Kent with glowing red eyes. Many fans are speculating that this is not Martha Kent and is in fact the shapeshifting alien, Martian Manhunter. J’onn J’onzz was always meant to appear in the theatrical cut. However for reasons that remain unclear Martian Manhunter never appears in his true form in the movie. It was confirmed by Zack Snyder that General Calvin Swanwick (Harry Lennix) was actual J’onzz in disguise.

One of Martian Manhunter’s key abilities is shapeshifting. In the same vain as Mystique from the X-Men, when the writers want to reveal that someone is actual J’onze in disguise, they give the classic flash of the eyes. While this trailer brings us no where closer to seeing Martian Manhunter’s true form, it is a promise of things to come.
‘Zack Snyder’s Justice League’ premiers on March 18th on HBO Max.
