‘The Falcon and The Winter Soldier’ Spoiler Free Review
Not to be outshined by DC ‘Justice League’, Marvel has rose to the occasion. The first episode of ‘The Falcon and The Winter Soldier’ has just dropped. Disney+ continues to impress with their movie quality Marvel TV content. Episode one, titled ‘A New World Order’ clocks in at just under an hour. Right away, we get an understanding of how this post-Endgame world works and what groups are on the rise.
The Falcon in action
Sam Wilson immediately hops into a great action scene that we saw teased in the trailers. There is even a surprise cameo from a returning MCU villain. The Falcon shines in these opening scenes and seeing his skill in the air cement his status as an Avenger. In addition to Sam’s hero action, we see a new side of Sam though his interactions with his sister.
The Winter Soldier attempting to avoid action
Along with Sam’s family, we are reintroduced to The Winter Soldier. Post-Endgame, The Winter Solider has retired from any active service and is working to make amends. Sebastian Stan pulls out an outstanding performance as someone suffering from PTDS and trying to move forward. When you compare his performance in ‘The Winter Soldier’, seeing Bucky Barnes this open and vulnerable is almost jarring.
The first episode delivers on everything even right up to the final scene. The final shot ends with the reveal of Wyatt Russell’s character suited up ready for a press conference.
New episodes of ‘The Falcon and The Winter Soldier’ will premier on Disney+ every Friday.
