‘Indiana Jones 5’: Everything We Know About The Untitled Sequel
The as of yet untitled Indiana Jones sequel is still on track and moving close to production. ‘Indiana Jones 5’ was announced back in 2016. The film was delayed several times due to script rewrites and changes to the production team. Of course, the global pandemic also set the film back by several months.
However, fans of the beloved adventure series can celebrate some news to come from the production. Deadline reported that the James Mangold helmed sequel is adding the Emmy-Award winning actress Phoebe Waller-Bridge to the cast. Following this news, Lucasfilm came forward with a press release, officially confirming the casting.

If adventure has a name…it must be Indiana Jones! Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag, Solo: A Star Wars Story) will star alongside Harrison Ford, who is returning to the role of the legendary hero archaeologist, for the fifth installment of the iconic franchise.
In addition, the inimitable John Williams will return to score the film, continuing a musical journey which began 40 years ago with Raiders of the Lost Ark. Williams’ unforgettable Indy soundtracks, packed with all the epic thrills, suspense, romance and excitement that fans have come to expect from an Indiana Jones movie, have become as beloved and familiar as the adventurer-hero’s signature hat and whip.
“I’m thrilled to be starting a new adventure, collaborating with a dream team of all-time great filmmakers,” said the film’s director James Mangold. “Steven, Harrison, Kathy, Frank, and John are all artistic heroes of mine. When you add Phoebe, a dazzling actor, brilliant creative voice and the chemistry she will undoubtedly bring to our set, I can’t help but feel as lucky as Indiana Jones himself.”

The untitled sequel is still a while away.

‘Indian Jones 5’ is in early pre-production. As such, details regarding plot, additional cast members or release dates are not available at this time. It is unclear how much of this film will address the previous, less successful Indy film. Although Crystal Skull left audiences a little less than happy, it did introduce several game changing elements to the Indiana Jones mythos. It will be interesting to see what, if anything, from the previous film writers decided to keep. However, the general consensus would seem that Mutt Williams is not going to be returning.
James Mangold took over as director back in 202 after Steven Spielberg stepped away from the project. Fans of Mangold’s work have drawn parallels between this project and 2017’s, critically acclaimed ‘Logan’.
