‘Knives Out’ Sequel Adds Dave Bautista To Cast, Alongside Danial Craig
Casting is underway for Rian Johnson’s upcoming sequel to ‘Knives Out’. Earlier this year Johnson scored an absolutely massive deal with Netflix. The streaming serious purchased the rights for two sequels for, reportedly, over $400 million. Rian Johnson will return to write and direct the next installments with Daniel Craig returning as Benoit Blanc.
In the first piece of casting news from the ‘Knives Out’ sequel, Deadline is reporting that Dave Bautista will be joining Daniel Craig for the upcoming film. From what little details are available it would seem that the sequel will follow in its predecessors footsteps. Blanc will be tasked with solving a complex crime along side a large cast of supporting characters. Although its unclear who Bautista will be playing in the ‘Knives Out’ sequel, production is set to begin this summer in Greece, so we may not have to wait long for more information.
In addition to Johnson’s ‘Knives Out’ sequel, Dave Bautista has been keeping incredibly busy. He will be staring in Zach Snyder’s ‘Army of the Dead’, which will also be streaming on Netflix this year. Additionally, he is set to appear in ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ which has just wrapped filming. Similarly he will be appearing as Drax again for the upcoming ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’ as well as the ‘The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special’ for Disney Plus.
Filming for Rian Johnson’s follow up for ‘Knives Out’ will begin later this year in Greece. Currently the film is scheduled for a 2022 release although no specific date has been given.
