‘The Batman’- New Trailer Out of DC’s FanDome Event
Hot off of DC’s FanDome event comes a new look at Matt Reeves’ “The Batman”. It’s been over a year since we got our first look for the upcoming movie. Unfortunately, ‘The Batman’ hit hard with COVID related delays. Thankfully, this trailer has delivered on everything we had been missing out on.
Robert Pattinson’s Batman cuts an awesome and terrifying swath through Gotham City’s underbelly. Based on behind the scenes material and press releases, this story will take place in Batman’s second year of Batman-ing. We can see evidence of this in the trailer with the Bat-signal and the 1960’s inspired Bat-Car.
The film has been described as a crime/noir story. Due to this, many fans are hoping for a more street level, detective story that is more in line with the comic books. ‘The Batman’ will be taking a lot of inspiration from Jeph Loeb’s The Long Halloween which takes place a few months after Year One.

Supporting cast of “Freaks” up against Batman
Not only does the trailer deliver on some stunning Caped Crusader action, we also get our first real look at the supporting cast of characters. Zoe Kravitz looks fantastic as Selina Kyle/Catwoman. We get a small taste of her in costume as well as what looks like her use of various disguises.

We see more of Colin Farrell’s Penguin who is shaping up to be more of the criminal mastermind that fans know from the comics. Additionally, right at the start of the trailer we catch the briefest glimpse at Paul Dano’s Riddler.
A brief synopsis was released along with the trailer.
”From Warner Bros. Pictures comes Matt Reeves’ ‘The Batman,’ starring Robert Pattinson in the dual role of Gotham City’s vigilante detective and his alter ego, reclusive billionaire Bruce Wayne.”
‘The Batman’ will be released in March of 2022.
