The first trailer for “Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol 3” has arrived and promises quite a dark story. From our first look at Chukwudi Iwuji’s High Evolutionary to a brief but powerful look at Will Poulter’s Adam Warlock, this two minute trailer packs a serious punch.

The End of the Guardians of the Galaxy

Guardians of the Galaxy

Based on reports from James Gunn, Vol. 2 is the intended send off for the current Guardians team. Judging by this first trailer, it would appear as though fans should expect several heartstrings to be pulled. Speculation on character deaths has ranged from Drax to Rocket and everyone in between. In the same vain, Rocket’s personal ties to the High Evolutionary will be the central focus and will help bring a close to his ongoing arch.

Meanwhile, the stage seems set for the B story to be comprised of Peter Quill’s search for Gamora who seems to have made her mark as the leader of the Ravagers.

Depending on how Adam Warlock is handled in the upcoming third Guardians movie, this could mean big things for the Cosmic side of the MCU. Warlock has big ties to several key players in the comics including The Silver Surfer and the Annihilation event. Additionally the MCU could be paving the way for multiple Guardians of the Galaxy teams. This is evident with the purchase of Nowhere confirmed in the Holiday Special.
